DELUNGRA’S non-profit community group, Muster Up Delungra is among the recently announced grant recipients from the Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal (FRRR).
Under the FRRR grants, Muster Up Delungra will receive just over $23,000 to host 5 community events next year, which are expected to provide something for everybody in the Delungra community.
A representative from the Foundation, Jill Karena, said their funding program is committed to empowering local groups to lead projects that will best meet the needs of their community.
“The projects we fund truly matter and have a meaningful impact. Our Strengthening Rural Communities program proves that a grant, no matter how small, can make a big impact in a regional place.
Leah Bennett from Muster Up says the funding will provide a major boost for the group’s 2025 plans and also comes on the back of a highly successful night with acclaimed comedian Peter Rowsthorn.
“We have a Farmers BBQ planned in May where our hard-working farmers, families and local community can come together to relax, socialise and make new connections, while enjoying a meal, drinks, music and dancing. We are expecting a big turnout to this event.”
“We will be hosting some fun, on farm education to boost knowledge and productivity, First Aid training for locals, alongside other events we have planned throughout 2025 including another comedy and dinner night in October 2025.
“The funding will also help Delungra celebrate Rural Women’s Day on 15 October 2025. A fun day to assist in helping women look after their health and connect to services they may not have known about, or how to connect to.”
“We want our rural ladies to remember they are an integral part of our community.”
Muster Up will also host two children’s Christmas movies on Saturday 7 December from 11.30am at the Delungra Bowling Club.
